Florence Square
In late 2002, Medici Communities was awarded the opportunity to work with the City of Aurora on the redevelopment of downtown Original Aurora. Close collaboration with current and future residents, City staff, elected officials and design team members produced a mixed-use plan that combines affordable housing, support retail, urban design and various programmatic elements to build on the existing civic and cultural assets in the community.
Florence Square is currently 100% leased up, with a waiting list, and retail space is at 75% occupancy. It is also credited with being the instigator of the area's art and cultural renewal, winning awards for both design and function.
